Today in church Herman gave us the opportunity to share our testimonies of what God has been doing in our lives the past two weeks. When we entered the room, he had a "lounge" setup ready for us with two comfortable chairs, a coffee table and beautiful proteas. He reminded us that the Holy Spirit is working in and through us all and that we each have something to share that will be meaningful and encouraging for the rest of our church family.
It is so funny how people's reactions differ towards an invitation to share! Some dread it and others embrace it. However, even if we dread to make ourselves vulnerable, the Holy Spirit uses the opportunity to work powerfully through us - as broken clay pots. When we are willing to share just how vulnerable we are, His glory shines the brightest.
We learned again today that the testimony of what Jesus is busy doing in all our lives is the "spirit of prophecy" for those we are sharing with (Revelation 19:10).
Moments like these bind us together as the church, His bride. Herman shared a picture that the Lord gave him of the living water that is flowing out of each of us into one big river (the church) and eventually into the sea (our Father).
